We’ve worked around the clock to develop exceptional insulated outerwear to keep you nice and warm in cold climates. Our vegan down alternative is designed to trap heat inside and keep the cold out. It provides the ultimate warmth without sacrificing your style or comfort. Stay warm with us. What are the jackets outer fabric made of? A poly/cotton blend is used to make the fabric of our outerwear. The polyester component is made from recycled plastic. What is Vegan down fill? Vegan 'down' is not down at all, but polyester that clusters together and insulates when damp. 100% animal-free. It’s that simple! How is the fitting of your winter parkas? 'Generous Fit' so we suggest sizing down a size if you like to wear light clothing under your jacket. However, order your usual size if you like bulky layers underneath. Next page
I own 2 Alpine North winter parkas, 1 of the heavier rain coats and now the rain jacket. Love all of them. Especially the abundance of zipper pockets. All worth every penny.Having never heard of this brand before, I was surprised at the quality of this jacket. Given that it's made mostly of recycled plastic bottles, I didn't expect it to be such a stylish, functional, and well-made jacket. The zippers are made by SAB and are super smooth. The fabric is relatively thin so this is intended primarily as a rain layer, not really for warmth, but it is windproof so it offers good protection from the elements. There's a little bit of spandex in the fabric which gives it just a little bit of stretch. The "Dusty Green" color is interesting and understated; it's unusual for a jacket and very attractive. There are two hand pockets and one chest pocket, all of which are zippered and with a little hood of fabric to cover the closed zipper, keeping the contents dry. Despite being made of plastic, the jacket is soft and comfy to wear. The hood folds up out of sight into the neck panel, which is way oversized compared to most jackets and has a really cool look in addition to offering great protection from wind and rain.I am 6'2" and slim, and usually wear a size M which is what I ordered in this jacket. The M fits perfectly with just enough room for an insulating layer underneath when necessary, and has sleeves with a generous length, which I appreciate because I have long arms and most jacket sleeves are a little short on me.The jacket is designed in Canada (nice!) but made in China. This is a well made jacket and is well worth the money. It's easily on a par with rain jackets from the well-known outdoors brands such as Marmot and North Face, but with its own style. I have no hesitations in recommending it and look forward to seeing how this brand develops.Alpine North's Rain Shell Jacket is very nicely made from a soft and slightly stretchy fabric that feels much nicer than most rain coats. The jacket has smooth zippers and a hood hidden inside the large collar. The yellow and black color scheme is classic raincoat, but it's not garish or childish. As a 5'6" and 135 pound male it fits me perfectly in a size small. It's roomy but not boxy and the cuffs and bottom hem can be tightened as desired. I can wear a sweater or t-shirt underneath the coat equally well. It's the perfect weight for a spring and fall coat, even when it is not raining. The large zippered pockets on the front are appreciated. All in all... a great coat.??;??: Exceeded my expectations.─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍─╍┄┈┄╍???????????:I really only have good things to say about it, but it really can be summarized by a short story:I hadn't tried this before taking it on a trip with me to the Massachusetts coast this past week. I checked to see the weather for the trip and packed accordingly. What I didn't see was that winds would hit upwards of 35mph. When I say it penetrated every opening of my clothing, I mean it. Then I remembered I had this scrunched in a small ball in my backpack and threw it on.And all I want to say is that I immediately understood why windbreakers are called windbreakers. This jacket came in clutch for me. Beyond that, it's pretty comfortable. I ordered a Small, and it went over some reasonably thick hoodies in a Medium. It's an outstanding shell; it does everything it needs to do.We live in the panhandle of FL so it doesn’t get terribly cold, but during the winter and early spring when the rain is coming down it can feel quite chilly outside. My husband is a mail carrier and frequently needs rain protection (because, Florida) so I ordered this Alpine North rain shell for him to keep him warm and dry during the colder season. The fit is TTS and is roomy and comfortable. The material is thick and feels really durable, but it’s not heavy. It is warm- possibly too warm for an average northern Florida winter day without rain, but it’s perfect for when the rain starts coming down and ups the chill factor. The stowable hood is so nice! He can use it when he needs it, but pack it away when it’s not necessary so that it’s not hanging down his back and adding extra bulk or pulling on his neck. This jacket feels on par with Columbia and other similar brands. Definitely recommend! This is an awesome rain shell, the quality is on par with Marmot. The zippers pull smoothly and the pockets are nice and deep (it has one chest pocket and two hand pockets, all zippered). It is roomy, perfect for layering over heavy sweaters or sweatshirts, with a generous hood that tightens with bungee cords and folds easily away when not needed (it cannot be removed). The bottom of the jacket can also be tightened via bungee cords, and the wrists have velcro. I ordered the large size for my husband, who is 6 foot 3 and wears a US men's size large, and it fit him similar to the description photos of the models. On me, the "large" is loose and over-sized, but still comfortable, and not sloppy looking due to the adjustable cords (see my pics). For size reference, I am 5 foot 7, weigh 165 pounds, have a short torso and narrow shoulders, a 36C bust, and wear a US women's size 10. While this is an unlined shell, it is still very warm, not something I would want to wear in the summer. It does perform as intended, and is great at blocking wind and rain.Overall, this is a quality rain shell great for layering or wearing on its own. I have no doubt it will see a lot of use, and I would definitely order it again. This is a nice quality jacket comparable to Northface or Patagonia. Light weight and low volume but extremely warm.I really liked this jacket, more than I thought I would. It's a great fit, and it's not too heavy as I don't live in super cold weather. I can wear it to go out to the movies or somewhere that's usually cold. I love the side pockets and that I can hide the hoodie if I don't want it to be out (It has a place to tuck it in)> An added bonus is that it's unisex, so my son borrows it as well. Great Jacket!
