This container is perfect for keeping the boiled egg smell out of my refrigerator. My husband likes to eat hard boiled eggs and makes 12-18 at a time. I disliked opening the door and smelling those eggs so I bought this for him in hopes it would be air tight and it is! Problem solved. My husbands only comment to me is it's difficult for him to get the eggs out if he peels them before putting them in the container. So he just doesn't peel them before he puts them in there which isn't a big deal to him. We think the date tracker is a cool thing and very useful for some, but he goes through the eggs timely that he generally doesn't bother with it.I love that it’s lockable. When we plan a camping trip I grab it and put it in the cooler on the way out! Use the eggs we need for camping… bring it back home and put it back in the fridge! Now, with this handy holder, we can see the progression of eggs being eaten and we know exactly when to run out to replenish.We eat a lot of eggs in just a week or two so the date time on the top of the container probably won’t come into use for us very often but I can see that it would be very useful for the family that stores eggs for a longer period of time. Easy to set, easy to read.We typically purchase large or extra large eggs and they both fit into the holder without any problems.The holder isn’t dishwasher safe but if you’re just holding store-bought uncooked eggs then a good rinse with hot water will probably do for cleaning. It actually takes up a little less space than the cartons for two dozen eggs. And then they don't get confused with the raw eggs. It's frustrating that it needs to be hand washed but handy for storing eggs more securely than a bowl in the fridge. The date manager helps us remember when the eggs were boiled to keep tabs on their freshness, too, just in case.This egg tray is very well constructed. The clear PET plastic is thick and durable. It is very sturdy. Your eggs are very well protected.I like the size and shape of the egg bin. It isn't too large and isn't too small. It can hold all sizes of eggs from USDA small to large grades.The bin is easy to wash and clean. When it needs cleaning a simple wash with warm water and dish soap does the trick.When bring home some eggs you can set the date ring on top to remind you of when you purchased them.Great quality and design. 5 stars.Sturdy, lid locks and it looks nice.
