I have owned a number of fountain pens over the years: Montblanc, Waterman, Lamy, Cross, and Pilot just to name a few. Prior to recently reading a review, I’d never considered a Caran d’Ache pen, but reviews of the Ecridor compelled me to give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a wonderfully balanced pen: heavy, but not overwhelmingly so, and slender enough for smaller hands, which can be a problem with some brands. Most importantly for me, the cap snaps on securely and this pen doesn’t ever seem to leak, which is fabulous. The Ecridor is also elegant: the rhodium-coated steel nib and palladium coated body are both eye catching and sturdy. I was so impressed with the craftsmanship of this pen that I just purchased a second, which I’ll fill with Noodler’s Apache ink for editing and making comments on other’s work. Highly recommended.
